Full vs Partial Vehicle Wraps in Dubai: Costs, RTA Rules and What Survives the Heat

Vehicle Branding Solutions in Dubai

A branded van sitting in Dubai traffic is seen by thousands of people a day, and unlike a billboard you pay for it once. That is the appeal of vehicle branding. The question most businesses get stuck on is how much of the vehicle to cover, and what that decision does to cost, approval and resale.

Partial branding vs full wrap

Partial branding applies cut vinyl or printed panels to specific areas, typically the doors, rear panel and sometimes the bonnet. The vehicle keeps its original paint as the background colour.

A full wrap covers the entire body in printed, laminated vinyl. The base colour of the car becomes irrelevant, and the whole vehicle becomes the canvas.

Partial branding is the right answer when your fleet is already a consistent colour, when budget matters more than impact, or when vehicles are leased and you want the lightest possible touch. A full wrap is the right answer when you want the vehicle to read as a brand asset from a distance, when your fleet is mixed colours and you need visual consistency, or when the design needs to run across panel lines.

What it typically costs in Dubai

The ranges below are indicative of the Dubai market in 2026 and are here to help you budget. Actual pricing depends on vehicle model, design complexity, vinyl grade and whether approvals are included.

Vehicle Partial branding Full wrap
Sedan or hatchback AED 800 to 1,500 AED 3,500 to 6,000
SUV or 4×4 AED 1,200 to 2,000 AED 5,000 to 9,000
Delivery van AED 1,500 to 2,500 AED 4,000 to 7,500
3-ton truck AED 2,000 to 3,500 AED 6,000 to 9,500
Bus, 26 to 64 seater AED 4,000 to 6,500 AED 10,000 to 16,000+

Fleets cost less per vehicle. The design work is done once and spread across the order, printing runs more efficiently, and an installation team working through identical vehicles gets faster with each one.

RTA approval is not optional

Commercial vehicle branding in Dubai requires RTA permit approval. This is a legal requirement, not a formality, and unapproved branding can create fines and complications at registration. When you compare quotes, check two things explicitly: whether RTA government fees are included in the price, and whether the company handles the approval submission for you or leaves it with you.

What UAE heat does to vinyl

This is where cheap wraps show themselves, usually in month eight. Surface temperatures on a parked vehicle in July are brutal, and the combination of heat, UV and dust attacks a wrap in three ways: the print fades, the adhesive either bakes on or releases at the edges, and the surface goes chalky.

Three things prevent it:

  • Cast vinyl, not calendered. Cast film is thinner, more conformable and dimensionally stable. Calendered film shrinks back over time and lifts at the edges and recesses.
  • Laminate over the print. The laminate carries the UV inhibitors. An unlaminated printed wrap in Dubai is a false economy.
  • Proper surface preparation and post-heating. Edges and recesses have to be heated and sealed correctly or they will lift.

Done properly, expect roughly three to five years of good service from a full wrap here, and longer if the vehicle is garaged overnight.

Design rules that actually matter on a moving vehicle

  • One message. A vehicle is seen for two or three seconds. Name, what you do, one contact route.
  • Phone number legible at distance. Bigger than you think, high contrast, no thin script.
  • Design around the hardware. Handles, fuel flaps, mirrors, window seals and body creases all interrupt artwork. Put the important elements on flat panels.
  • Do not block glass illegally. Perforated window film has rules. Check before you design.
  • Arabic. If it appears on your signage it should appear here too, and it should be set properly, not machine-translated.

Does a wrap damage the paint?

Applied and removed correctly on original factory paint, no. A wrap actually protects the paint underneath from UV and stone chips, and vehicles often come out of a wrap in better condition than the unwrapped panels. Damage happens when a wrap is applied over resprayed or poorly repaired panels, or when it is removed with excessive force instead of controlled heat.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a vehicle wrap take?

A single vehicle is usually one to three days including preparation, application and curing. Fleets are scheduled in batches so you are not without vehicles.

Can I wrap a leased vehicle?

Usually yes, but check your lease agreement first. Most leasing companies allow it if the wrap is professionally applied and fully removed at handover.

Can you match my signage colours exactly?

We colour-match printed vinyl to your brand references and produce a sample before running the full job.

How do I wash a wrapped vehicle?

Hand wash with a mild detergent. Avoid high-pressure jets aimed directly at edges and seams, and skip abrasive brush car washes.
